Description
To succeed as an instructor you must have intentional teaching. You must have direction and purpose in delivering knowledge. Students can then take that knowledge, apply it to life, and gain wisdom. This is not random. Teaching must have a road map. We must know where we are going and how we plan to get there. Our teaching must also evolve with time or we become archaic and boring. The same teaching methods used five years ago may become outdated and behind the times. This intentional teaching has many parts and components. One of these parts includes forming partnerships in teaching. As lecturers we have subject expertise. We know, or should know what knowledge needs to be conveyed to our students. However, that does not make us expert teachers. It is vital that a team be created that works together to help deliver that knowledge to the students in the best possible way. Partnerships must be formed at many levels. I would like to discuss the partnerships that must be formed by a lecturer in order to allow students to gain the wisdom needed for their professional career. My focus will include partnerships with other faculty and utilizing USU CIDI.
