Description

Current research suggests that online learning environments can be isolating due to lack of social presence (Bisoux and Kear). Allowing students to interact face-to-face -- even in a virtual setting -- can increase their sense of community (Bisoux). In addition, student-produced videos can improve engagement and learning in online coursework (Stanley). This presentation will focus on various ways to utilize Flipgrid videos to enhance student engagement and establish a learning community. Participants will learn how to navigate Flipgrid, integrate it with Canvas, and use it to captivate student attention. Student evaluations of Flipgrid will also be shared.
