Description

Student involvement in research is a high-impact practice that supports student learning and increases retention and graduation rates. In addition, mentoring students in research connects to many components of a teaching faculty member's role statement as a way to demonstrate teaching excellence. This session will highlight resources for undergraduate research, provide examples of how to include undergraduate research mentoring within courses, and provide suggestions for mentoring undergraduate researchers outside the classroom.
