Description

In keeping with the theme of this conference, this session will illustrate how to connect an inclusive, compassionate, and accessible approach to teaching to the activities, roles, and relationships of successful college students. For the first part of this session, we will begin with a small group brainstorming session in order to first identify what activities, roles and relationships of successful college students might look like. We also will clarify and broaden what "success" might actually mean to various stakeholders and discuss how redefining success might help us reconceptualize what student activities, roles, and relationships look like. In the second part of the session, we will share ideas for specific strategies and tactics that we can take as instructors in order to make the identified activities, roles, and relationships more inclusive, compassionate, and accessible.
